Three Reasons to Visit Delray Beach in the Fall

Most people think of Florida as a summer vacation destination. There certainly is some truth to that. With beautiful beaches, delicious dining, and fun attractions all around, there is so much to enjoy when visiting Florida in the summer. However, if you’re looking for the best time to visit South Florida, you should consider visiting in the fall.

Here at the Aloft Delray Beach we love showing our guests the best that our corner of South Florida has to offer. So we’ve put together three reasons to Visit Delray Beach in the fall.

Say Farewell to Summer During Labor Day Weekend

Florida is a popular Labor Day Weekend destination. There is always so much to do. Here in Delray Beach you can enjoy events, concerts, and more. Plus, during Labor Day Weekend our rooftop pool terrace will be home to poolside entertainment and a vibrant party atmosphere. On Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy music and a live local DJ, delicious food and drinks all while soaking up the Florida sunshine.

One of our favorite local destinations is hosting two great events during Labor Day Weekend, as well.

Restaurant Week in Downtown Delray

And, if you’re thinking of booking a weekend getaway before summer is through, consider a stay with us at Aloft Delray Beach sometime in August. It’s a great time to visit because Restaurant Month in Downtown Delray is August 1 – August 31, 2021. Over 25 different restaurants around downtown Delray are participating, including our own W XYZ ® Bar.

Restaurant Month is a month full of prix-fixe special menus that show off our best features both at W XYZ ® Bar and other participating locations around downtown Delray. Our Delray Beach hotel is ideally located among exciting Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove. One of the best things about visiting Delray Beach is our café culture. So many of our restaurants in Delray have wonderful outdoor, patio style dining. Sipping a mojito as you sit under a shaded patio, is perfect South Florida vibes.

The Weather is Better in September and October

If you’d rather visit Delray Beach in September or October, prepare for blissful weather. As much as we Floridians love the sunshine, we’ve got to admit, summer can be a little brutal after a while. September and October bring some relief while still radiating with the warmth for which the Sunshine State is known.

The average temperature in Delray Beach in September is 89° high and 78° low. And October is even better with 86° high, and less rain. The humidity lessens in these months compared to summer, giving you more time to enjoy the beautiful beach and outdoor spaces around Delray.

In September you can enjoy the famous Indie Art Festival. Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Cornell Art Museum At Old School Square. This beloved two-day art festival is a favorite tradition among locals and visitors a like. The Cornell Art Museum is an art museum housed in the former, quaint 1913 Delray Beach Elementary School building.
